Frequently Asked Questions

We are not a large store where we buy goods and resell them, we make our mounts in our own facility. That means we sometimes can’t answer emails right away. Sometimes general questions take a week, sometimes longer, sometimes we just don’t get to them. If you have purchased a product and have an issue we will get back to you ASAP. For the most part I have a few answers that may help. If you write me and ask one of these questions, you may be directed back here.

Q. Have you shipped my purchase?

A. If it’s been 2 or 3 days, maybe not. If you order on a Thursday there is a good possibility it won’t ship until Monday. While your item is in stock, we are a small shop and do everything in house. Sometimes we can ship the same day, or Monday after the weekend but we get busy towards the end of the week and do our best. We no longer ship outside the USA.

Q. How much torque do I apply to the screws in your mounts?

A. 18 to 20ip is recommended on our bolts.

Q. You have an item that is out of stock, when will it be back in stock?

A. Hard to say, we sometimes have to fill large orders and that takes time or it isn’t in the machining schedule just yet. Sometimes that particular part might be changing or even being eliminated from our inventory. There are lots of things that can delay a part being available so the answer varies depending on what is going on at the time.

Q. Can I get on a waiting list?

A. No. We used to do that but at this point managing the lists has taken away from doing other things and we would rather spend the time getting production completed.

Q. Do make a mount for __________ shotgun?

A. Maybe. If we do it is listed on the website. If you don’t see it, then no.

Q. Are you going to be making a mount for ________shotgun in the future?

A. Hard to say. We buy a shotgun for the mounts we make unless we know it cross platforms with other shotguns. If it is a low production, unique shotgun then chances are we don’t knowingly make one specifically for that particular shotgun.

Q. Will your mounts fit a Nordic Components magazine tube?

A. No, the Nordic Components tube is larger in diameter than 1″. Most factory and aftermarket tubes are made to be 1″ in diameter and that is what we make our clamps to fit.

Q. Will your mounts fit a Remington 870 without a magazine tube extension?

A. The 4 shot it will not fit, the 6 shot it will.

Q. Can I have your phone number? I prefer to make purchases over the phone/talk to you about your product.

A. Yes. We have a small office staff that can take your order over the phone between 10am and 2pm central time. 469-309-9535. It i still best to email us any questions you might have. DO NOT SEND US CREDIT CARD INFORMATION THROUGH THE MAIL.

Q. Can I T&E your part(s)?

A. Yes, requests from qualified military personnel and law enforcement agencies are welcome before purchase. Requests can be in the form of an email and must include your name, rank, department, supervisors name, shipping address , phone number and email address. You will need to mail or email a formal request on department letterhead, signed by a supervisor. Product will be shipped with an invoice due after 90 days if the product is not returned.

Q. What lights do you recommend for your products.

A. We generally don’t have specific recommendations. Personally I like the Streamlight TLR-1 for railed mounts and Surefire weapon lights for mounts that hold round bodied lights. Some lights that LOOK like 1″ lights or are even called 1″ may, in fact, be smaller than 1″ and not fit our mounts.

Q. What is your return policy?

A. At any time within 30 days you can get a complete refund (less shipping and handling). After 30 days, defective items will be replaced. Once a return is received the refund process will take 7 to 14 business days. All refunds will be processed in the manner in which you were originally charged, we do not issue checks, gift cards, etc. If the original method of payment has been closed or cancelled we will need valid proof in order to process a refund in an alternative form. You have 30 days from the date of the original purchase to return the product to receive your refund. Any return received after the 30 day time limit will not be processed. To ensure that your product is not lost or damaged, we strongly recommend sending the product certified mail with a tracking number. You must email us with a tracking number or your product may be returned to you. (We don’t check the PO box unless we are notified of a shipment and the USPS will return your package after a certain amount of time.) If we do not receive the product back and the customer does not have proof that the product was returned we cannot issue a refund. Valid proof of returning a product includes: delivery confirmation via USPS or “refused” packages in original box/label that can be tracked back to CDM Gear. We are not responsible for lost, missing or slow mail, we will honor any package that is postmarked for 30 days after the purchase of the product or before. Returned product must be undamaged ,and be accompanied by all wrenches, screws and included hardware, by the customer unless it is a failure of the product due to defect.
